2026 GKC Regional Assembly

Every two years we gather as a region for fellowship, worship, regional board elections, and discussion of any other pressing issues for the Greater Kansas City Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

2026 is extra special with leadership from our new Regional Minister, Rev. Dr. Lara Blackwood Pickrel and an Installation Service for our Regional Youth Cabinet.

As we reflect on Being the Body of Christ, we're reminded that it takes all of us - lay members, lay leaders, ministers, and regional ministry leadership to do the work of Christ in our congregations and in our communities.

Our Regional Assembly builds on this by offering a laity and family focus on Friday evening with a Regional focus on Saturday.

Friday, October 9th, 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
We will spend the evening connecting and building community within our Region. AND get to know others serving in ways similar to your own, whether it be as a board moderator, treasurer, children or youth leader, personnel, elder, deacon, etc. We will also enjoy a time of prayer, worship, and song, with refreshments provided.

Saturday, October 10th, 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM
We will worship, fellowship, elect new board members, share resources, install our new Regional Youth Cabinet, and get to know our new Regional Minister. Lunch will be provided.

A Children's Program (6 months through elementary school) will be provided.

We are blessed with vital nonprofit organizations within our Region; this year, part of your Regional Assembly Registration fee will be donated to Intersect KC and Deaf International.
